The merchant service charge (MSC) is 1.19%, depending on the card type and contractual arrangement. The exact MSC rate is determined by the transaction volume tier agreed upon in the contract. In addition, a monthly terminal fee of €15 (DeskPOS / SmartPOS including SoftPOS) applies. A one-time fee of €1 is charged for the provision of the terminal.
The MSC applies to card transactions made with Girocard cards as well as Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards. Via Nexi SoftPOS, payments can be accepted with Mastercard, Visa, Debit Mastercard, Visa Debit, V-Pay, and Maestro. Girocards are only accepted if they are equipped with a co-badge (e.g., Debit Mastercard, Visa Debit, V-Pay, or Maestro). Cards issued under the China UnionPay, Diners Discover, and JCB brands are not supported by Nexi SoftPOS.
A co-badge means that, in addition to the Girocard logo, a card also carries an international payment scheme. In such cases, payments are processed through the respective international scheme.
