  • Orderly CEO transition in Computop as part of the company’s next steps in its development and growth phase

Eschborn / Bamberg, 12 March 2026. The European Paytech company Nexi and its subsidiary Computop are entering into the next phase of their collaboration to accelerate growth while unlocking efficiencies across key areas. The focus is on closer alignment for example of product development, sales, technology and operations, along with clear customer benefits: a broader solutions portfolio, faster access to innovation and reliable performance.

Combined strengths for a Unified Commerce offering

A key element is the joint advancement of Unified Commerce (omnichannel). “Together with Computop’s e-commerce capabilities and platform strength, Nexi is able to accelerate and sharpen its unified commerce offering; delivering seamless payment experiences across all channels – online, mobile and in-store – and reduced time-to-market,” says Thomas Spreitzer, CEO Nexi DACH.

The DACH region remains a prioritized growth driver. At the same time, the joint solution and platform approach will gradually be rolled out in additional European markets. A joint roadmap for e-commerce and unified commerce forms the basis for this expansion.

Nexi contributes an established position with deep merchant relationships at the POS, European reach, innovation power and infrastructure; Computop adds technology expertise, platform strength and deep merchant relationships in ecommerce.

Management continuity and orderly transition

Stephan Kück has decided to leave the company after more than 16 years on the management board – most recently as CEO. Nexi thanks him for his longstanding commitment and his contribution to developing and expanding the ecommerce and omnichannel business, as well as the shaping of the relationship and increasing collaboration with Nexi in recent months. Thomas Egglseder will continue in his role as CFO of Computop. Kenneth M. Overgaard Nielsen will assume the role of CEO of Computop. This ensures continuity in the management team.

Stability and added value for customers

“Customers retain reliability and gain reach: from online checkout to payment at the POS, we deliver innovation, stability and scale in one,” emphasizes Kenneth M. Overgaard Nielsen, CEO of Computop. Service levels and commitments remain unchanged—while execution speeds up.
