Token technology and fingerprint
The Google Pay app is considered particularly secure. Payment with Google Pay is based on a deposited credit card, but the corresponding card data is neither stored nor transmitted directly on the smartphone. Instead, a so-called token is assigned to the deposited credit card and secured on the chip - and only this token is transferred during a transaction. The customer then additionally authenticates himself on his smartphone by fingerprint for amounts of €25 or more.
This ensures a high level of security - for customers and retailers alike.
